In case you haven’t noticed yet, there are two of us sharing this blog: Tal and Layla.

As for me, I’m Tal! I’m in my early-20’s and graduated from college almost three years ago. I moved to another country (see if anyone can guess where based on my food preferences!) and have been living here for 2.5 years.

During my middle school years, I had a bout with both anorexia and bulimia, but was able to stop with that type of disordered eating with some help. Although I think about all of that sometimes, I haven’t starved myself or purged since that time. Now, my issue is more related to emotional and stress eating. I became a person that uses food for comfort and developed some unhealthy habits. Aside from gaining weight, I developed a diet that wasn’t balanced or healthy by any means.

Now, I’m trying to refrain from dieting– because that has and will drive me insane– and to create a healthy lifestyle for myself.

I’m trying to learn to find better, healthier ways to deal with my emotions, to incorporate healthy food and exercise into my daily routine, to try new foods and recipes and to do this in a fun way– not a dull way. I’ll post about the struggles, the recipes, and the triumphs. I’m hoping to find support via the blogosphere, as it seems that the rest of you foodies have done that, and then some 🙂
